2004 State of Metropolitan Housing Reportby Metropolitan Housing Coalition The 2004 State of Metropolitan Housing report highlights the rising rates of foreclosure in the metropolitan area. As a result of the data, MHC will sponsor a foreclosure working group to convene for the next six months. The group, which will include representation from many aspects of the housing industry as well as consumer advocates, will make policy recommendations in April. "A minimum wage earner (earning $5.15 per hour) can afford monthly rent of no more than $268 for rent, and must work 87 hours per week to afford a two-bedroom unit at the area's Fair Market Rent." |
